Scroll down for a record of homework and deadlines.
Note: homework listed after a class meeting number is the work that you should do AFTER that class meeting. In other words, it is NOT the homework due at that class meeting.
w/o August 29th - Sept. 2nd Meeting one: (this homework is due at class meeting two) Type up a minimum of one page, double spaced writing directly from any of your initial freewrites. Try to type verbatim (word for word) from the freewrite. You are welcome to use fragments from different freewrites that don't connect to each other. You may also use a small selection from one freewrite and then extend that story with additional freewriting.
w/o September 12 - 16
6th period:
Homework due for Thursday: one page, single spaced freewrite on a moment of confrontation with your parents
5th period:
Homework due for Thursday: separate, one-page, single spaced extension of one of your freewrites from today (either on a moment of realizing and perhaps confronting a weakness in parent OR on a story of one of your family member's that you tell and preserve in some way)
ONGOING DEADLINES: A complete rough draft of Paper #1 is due at the beginning of class on Friday, 9/02. Your final draft of Paper #1 is due to me via email by midnight on Wednesday, 9/14.
Meeting one: respond to the most recent prompt in the discussion thread that you will find in the ITW section of the wiki. Go to the ITW page, then click on "Discussion" at the top. Make sure to respond to the most recent post from me about a specific quote from the text. Your response can be personal or purely about the specifics of the book.
ONGOING DEADLINE:
Complete rough draft of Paper #2 is due at the beginning of class on Thursday, 9/29.
